Nestled in the heart of Lake George, NY, Paddles Kitchen & Canteen offers an inviting culinary retreat that perfectly marries hearty Americana with a cozy, camp-inspired lakeside charm. This restaurant exudes warm Adirondack vibes through its colorful, outdoor-themed décor, creating a welcoming atmosphere that feels both vibrant and comfortably rustic—ideal for locals and travelers seeking a genuine taste of the region.
The menu is a delightful showcase of comfort food with a refined twist, emphasizing fresh, flavorful ingredients and creative combinations. Their Hearty Handhelds stand out, especially the Campfire Cheeseburger, featuring two juicy Angus beef patties layered with your choice of cheese, crisp lettuce, fresh tomato, tangy pickles, and their signature camp sauce, all nestled on a grilled bun and served alongside perfectly crisp fries. Or try the intriguing Chopped Cheese, where house-ground patties and melted American cheese are chopped and seared together, then topped with crunchy lettuce and your pick of hot or camp sauce on a toasted roll—a satisfying blend of smoky, savory, and tangy notes.
Brunch lovers will find joy in generous portions such as the Big Ol' Breakfast, offering classic buttermilk waffles, French toast, or pancakes paired with eggs cooked any style and crispy bacon or hash browns. The Eggs Benny, served on a buttery croissant with perfectly poached eggs, bacon, and a luscious hollandaise sauce, is even more reason to start your day here on a delightful note. Customers rave about dishes like the breakfast burger, praised for its savory depth and the subtle kick from a chipotle aioli, paired with a satisfying crunch from hashbrowns.
As the sun sets, Paddles transforms effortlessly for dinner with comforting yet sophisticated entrees. The creamy Penne Alfredo and the indulgent Penne alla Vodka provide a rich, velvety base balanced with the option to add grilled or fried chicken, or succulent shrimp for an extra touch of luxury. For a nostalgic twist, the classic Mac & Cheese can be elevated with chili, delivering a spicy warmth that complements its creamy texture. The highlight may very well be the Reverse-Seared Flank Steak, an 8-ounce tender steak sliced and topped to perfection, embodying the robust, smoky flavors that align beautifully with the campfire theme. Pasta lovers will also appreciate the marinara-based options like Spaghetti Marinara with optional meatballs and Ravioli Marinara with the option of upgrading to a rich meat sauce, catering to varied palates.
Beyond the delicious fare, guests consistently praise the attentive and friendly service that feels genuine and personal, contributing immensely to the welcoming vibe. The bartenders create thoughtfully crafted cocktails that stand out as much as the food, with unique drinks like the "Poison Ivy," reminiscent of a mojito but sweeter and layered with distinctive flavors, adding to evenings filled with conviviality and charm. Patrons describe the bar area as a hidden gem—perfect for unwinding after a day of exploring Lake George.
In all, Paddles Kitchen & Canteen is not just a meal stop, but an experience infused with local character and warmth. I stopped by this morning for brunch and my breakfast burger was amazing! Savory with a slight kick from the chipotle aioli and a nice crunch from the hashbrown. Fries were also thin and crispy which I like, and I'm generally not a big fan of fries. Service was great, kind and attentive. Looove the Adirondack and outdoor-themed decor - very fitting for the local aesthetic

A good selection of gluten free foods on the menu. A dedicated fryer for french fries. We got a cheeseburger and a pizza, which were amazingly good. It seems they make the pizza crust themselves and ir was super good! Cozy atmosphere, relaxing music and nice staff.

Love this place! I ate a hot honey chicken sandwich which had a great balance of sweet n spicy with a nice portion size…was able to clean my plate without feeling over full. The staff are very friendly. The cocktails are well crafted. The decor is colorful and cozy, really capturing the camp/ lake side vibe of the Lake George. I will definitely eat here again.

Loved brunch so much we came back for dinner. Great food for the cost, wonderful service and fun atmosphere. They have some unique drinks that were amazing. We had the "poison ivy" which was like a mojito, but very unique and sweet.

This place is an absolute must stop when you're in Lake George. Our waitress was the most friendly, outgoing, and truly cared about your experience. After eating amazing fresh made food we made our way up to the bar which is a hidden gem and met the owner. The drinks were amazing and the conversation made us stay for more. If you truly want a great night make sure you stop here. It was by far the best experience we had in Lake George!
